Quick and easy Valentine’s day make up

I knooow that Valentine’s day is either hated or loved, but you can still find yourself just wrapped around with all the cute stuff that comes out around this time of the year. Not to mention all the make up and make up looks. I don’t particularly hate or love Valentine’s day, but since I have a boyfriend , I do want to look pretty for that day. So I though I’d come up with a quick and easy look, that’s perfect for Valentine’s day, but can be worn basically whenever you want to.

In my opinion Valentine’s day just screams red lipstick. It is an essential bit of the whole make up look. And because you’re creating a bold lip, you need to keep your eyes as simple as possible. What I had in my mind, was a more classy, ’50 look, but let me walk you through exactly how to achieve this look.

First thing first is primer. You want your make up to last throughout the whole evening so primer is very important, I use the Benefit Porefessionals primer, as it is one of the best primer out there. It will give you a flawless base to put your make up on. For foundation, I use the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in the shade light porcelain ( yes I am that pale! ). To make under eyes circle disappear or for any blemishes I use everyone’s favourite concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade fair. It gives you such a nice coverage without being too thick on the skin. Then I set everything with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the shade transparent.

After this I go onto my eyes and I will finish my face later. First I’m applying NYX Proof it! eye shadow primer, and while it sets, I’ll do my brows. I get my brows tinted, but I still like to fill them in and for that I use the Natural Collection eye shadow in the shade crushed walnut. After this I just brush them into shape, and that’s my eyebrows done. If you want you can set it with a gel, mine just usually doesn’t get messy, so I don’t need it. For my eyes I’m only applying a white, barely-able-to-see eye shadow, and that is from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette¬†in the shade white chocolate. Just to give my eyes some cleanness. After discovering tight lining I can’t do my make up without it. I take my Soap and Glory eyeliner pencil and line my upper lash line. This will give you fuller looking lashes. And finally I use my L’oreal Super Liner eyeliner to create a winged liner, and I’m not going shy with it ūüėČ To finish off the eye make up I use the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara.

Now it’s time to finish off my face. For contouring I use the Benefit Hoola bronzer. For blush I take the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Rosy Cheek palette and apply the shade pretty peony. This is a nice pinky shade, not too strong, and it has a golden sheen to it, which I think looks pretty with the red lip look. To finish off my face I use Benefit High Beam to get the most gorgeous¬†highlight (ever!).

Moving on to the lip, I’ll take my Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner and line my lips. Then I apply the Tanya Burr Cosmetics lipstick in the shade Big Kiss. A perfect red to wear on Valentine’s day.

Last but not least, to set everything I’m going to use The Body Shop Vitamin E hydrating face mist. I’ve recently seen it on YouTube that this mist can also be used as a setting spray, and it really does a wonderful job with keeping everything together and on your face all day.

I hope you enjoyed reading this make up look tutorial and that you recreate it!

Have a happy Valentine’s Day!

xoxo

January Favourites

January always feels like the longest month of the year. Buuut if is sooo god for trying out new bits and pieces, especially if you got yourself a handful of goodies in the January sales ūüėČ Not to mention all the Christmas presents that that I had a lot of time trying out and using in the month of January. SO here are ALL the products I loved in these long five weeks of January.

My first favorite of the month is the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Beautifully Defined palette (which I believe you can still get from the Feelunique¬†website). I generally loved Tanya’s Christmas collection, and was very excited about the palettes especially. This one has gorgeous eye shadows in it, a highlighter, a liquid highlighter and a bronzer. I wanted to have this palette to be honest because of the liquid highlighter but actually ended up liking the bronzer a lot more. It is a nice caramel shade, I find it goes very well with my pale skin. Easy to blend, and looks very natural on the face. Also in love with the eye shadows, the pigmentation is on point as always. They’re just pretty every day colours.

My second favourite is another palette of Tanya’s. It was the first one I had my eye on, when she released the collection. It is the Pretty Unstoppable palette. It has four eye shadows, a highlighter, a blusher, and a matte mini lipstick. I think this is the palette that had the most to offer in term of quantity of products and price. Really like the eye shadows, easy to create an everyday look with them. But with the darker shades it is easy to do a more of a night out look as well. Reminds me of Tanya’s other eye shadow palettes.

For Christmas I got the long-wanted Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Queen B. I really, really, really like the formula and the shade of this lipstick. This is the only Too Faced Melted lipstick I own, but after using this I definitely want to try more. It glides on so easily on the lips, the pigmentation is just beautiful, literally one swipe is enough to get the full effect. It is not too drying on the lips, more like you can’t even feel like you’re wearing anything on your lips. Win, win!

A new discovery this month is the Maybelline the Falshies Push Up mascara. I did another blog post on my fave mascaras where I talk about the reasons why I like this one, so I’ll leave you a link for it, if you would like to read it.

This is not a product I purchased in January to tell you the truth, but I definitely rediscovered it in my collection, and found myself reaching for it every day. I like pink shade blushes the most. I just think they suit my pale complexion nicely. This blush is very pigmented, so little bit goes a long way. It also has a tiny¬†bit of glitter in it, so if you don’t like that avoid this product, but when applied to the face it is not glittery at all, just gives you a nice sheen, which is always nice with blushes.

What have been your faves in January?

Tanya Burr Cosmetics lipsticks review

First of all welcome back! I was taking a bit of a break from blogging for personal reasons but now I’m back and ready to roll again.

Second of all I have to apologize in advance for not getting all of of the the lipsticks, but I decided that I will only get the ones that I really like.

When I saw the pictures on Instagram that Tanya is going to release lipsticks I was beyond happy. I knew I could expect the best quality from her so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them as soon as I could.

So altogether I got four colours out of the six colours she released. The¬†two shades that I didn’t get were just too corally toned for me and they just don’t suit me, so I don’t think I’ll get them, but nonetheless they are still very gorgeous shades.

First of all I’d like to talk about the formulas. I have to say that they are my favourite lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried, they glide on very easily on the lips. I have to talk about the pigmentation as well, all the colours that I own are very pigmented, literally just one swipe of lipstick can give the full effect of the lipstick, but of course you can always layer it up (but you really don’t need to). It doesn’t say on the packaging and I haven’t heard Tanya mention it either, but they’re not supposed to be long lasting, however I find that they sit nicely on the lips for several hours and even with eating the lipstick only goes from the inner part of the lip.

I like the satin finish they have too. They not super shiny just a nice subtle sheen to them. They’re not tacky in any way and I’m very happy with the fact that they are not drying on the lips either.

So the first colour I got was the brightest colour of the bunch in the shade Central Park. It is a very bright almost berry pink shade. It is very pretty with just winged eyeliner and loads of mascara.

wp-1483890366518.jpg

The next one is a pretty red shade, which was perfect for Christmas time, under the name Big Kiss. I like that it is a little bit darker¬†red with no coral undertone ( if you like more of a corally shade then I’d recommend the Wild Safari ) just a pretty red. I do wear lip liner with any red lipstick , but I tried it without and it doesn’t¬†seem to be runny or easily smudged in any way.

The third colour that I have is the lightest shade, Birthday Cake. ( can I just mention that I love the names Tanya gives to her products ). This light pink shade is right up my street as this kind of a pink/nude shade has always been my favourite. Definitely goes perfectly with smokey eyes, or with any heavy eye makeup.

Last but not least, I think it’s safe to say that everybody’s fave shade Pink Cocoa is a favourite for a reason. The pretty dark pink nude shade is just perfect for every day wear. It is very flattering I find, and it goes with most eye make up and outfit too. I’d say if you’re on a ¬†budget or not sure which shade to go for, try this one first. Pretty sure you’ll be satisfied ūüėČ .
