Again I kind of wanna say that this is the best face powder in the drugstore but I have not tried all the powder so I feel like I can’t say that… but what’s the point in trying different products when you have found one that really works for you? So I can say that I have found that best face powder that works really well for me and this is the Catrice prime and fine mattifying powder.
I do have oily/combination skin so naturally I’m always looking for powders that gonna keep me matte all day or at least as long as possible. Although in the winter my skin does get dry and less oily so then it is important that I don’t look too powdery. This powder feels very smooth and fine on the skin. I can almost say it feels like nothing and looks like nothing on my skin yet it makes everything so smooth and fills in my pores well too.
I also like the way it sets under my eyes, they never look too powder heavy and it stops any creasing that my previous drugstore powders never fully did.
I use in in the shade transparent because I don’t like my powders to have any colours.
It works well with settings sprays, I use it with my NYX Matte setting spray and it keep me looking nice and matte all day.
I feel like I really found a gem in this powder I’m already on my second pan and hitting pan on it as well. The one thing I really want to do is try their loose powder as well see if it is as good as this one. Probably is.
Have you tired anything from Catrice Cosmetics? Any fave products? Any good drugstore powders that are your holy grail ones? Let me know, I’m curious.
That’s all for this little review, I hope you liked it.
Until next time,
So when I say new, it is not exactly a new palette for me it is a new discovery and such a god one that I have to share it with you. I think we all know that MUR is great at making eyeshadow palettes that are good on quality yet very affordable. I already own two palettes from them and I use them quite often. But I wanted a bit of change in the eyeshadows I was using, just sort of got tired of the same shades and colours I was using so I picked up this palette and absolutely fell in love with it and have been using it since.
So I have now had this palette for about 2 months and the first thing I like about it is how many shades you get. The second thing is that they are ridiculously pigmented. I can use the brown shades for my lash line as a liner and they actually show up. They are very dusty might I add so definitely not a creamy texture but I don’t have trouble blending them out so I don’t mind it. They do have a little fallout as well but again does not bother me as long as I can work with them easily on the eyes.
I also enjoy that you can create so many looks with it from very natural to very dramatic. A lot of the shades are mattes and again so pigmented. They are just a joy to play around with. I use one of the darker brown shade to fill in my brows and it does a brilliant job at that too.
I really like when a palette work this well for me and well it is only 8 pounds.
Instead of swathes I decided to do a makeup look using the berry shades of the palette which are definitely the prettiest ones.
Hope you liked this little review and the make up look!
Do you like Make Up Revolution? Which one of their product is your fave?
Until next time,
Heyyy there and welcome back to another blog post! Today I wanted to talk about my new fave lippies and these are the Stila Stay all day liquid lipsticks. I have got three minis, to be honest it was cheaper to get three minis then one full size so I opted for this because I wanted to try out more shades. So let’s get into my opinion.
First of all I really like the shades I got, which are Perla, Patina and Serenata. They were a nude little bundle I got off from Birchbox. When first applied I found them very creamy almost watery consistency, but nonetheless they are really pigmented and just one swipe gives full a colour payoff.
They are comfortable on the lips, almost lightweight, you don’t feel you have anything on the lips. They of course dry down matte, however they are not fully transferproof, I have noticed that can see them on my mugs and the food I’m eating, also it tends to rub off on the inner part on the lips with food too. Also find they are drying on the lips after hours of wearing them, but they do stay on for a long time.
I would recommend exfoliating your lips before using the lipsticks, because of their consistency they will definitely emphasize a chapped lip. They come off very easily, I don’t necessarily need a cleansing balm to take them off, a wet wipe will do the job.
All in all I do like these lipsticks, they are comfortable and I really like the shades however I still prefer the Stay Matte Inks from Maybelline ( if I had to choose), which are also cheaper and have a great shade selection too.
I hope you liked this review. Have you tried the liquid lipstick before? Do you like them? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time,
This was such an interesting concept form NYX and I bought two shades months ago and then I was just unmotivated to blog and all… but here I am finally giving my thoughts on this product. So let’s just get straight into it.
Firstly I got the shades Cool intentions and Moody, actually I think they will be pretty good shade choices for the coming Autumn. So the product comes out at the end through the applicator as a cream and then it turns into a mousse-y kind of powder when you apply it to the lips. The application is really easy. I find it really comfortable to wear, actually not even feeling like I have anything on my lips.
They are pigmented and I don’t find them drying on my lips, however with the shade Moody I did notice it started bleeding after a few hours so would definitely recommend using a lip liner with it.
They don’t feel tacky on the lips, like I said they feel like nothing on the lips. They have a matte finish, which I generally prefer, however unfortunately they do not dry down completely, I don’t think they’re supposed to, so naturally you have to keep reapplying hem throughout the day especially after eating.
I do like these lippies, the only thing I don’t like about them is what I just mentioned. I prefer lipstick that dry down and stay in place. But nontheless I will still use them, cause they are really pretty and comfortable on the lips.
Have you tried this product before? What did you think? If you haven’t, do you want to try them? Let’s have a chat in the comments!
Hope you liked reading this blog post and…
Until next time,
I have seen these products all over IG and YT and yet everytime I went into Superdrug I would forget to pick it up and try it for myself, until now. I finally remembered when I was out shopping and since it was 3 for 2, I obviously had to get 3 of the Bilou shower gels.
First of all I really love the packaging I think it is cute yet simple. It is easy to use, and not just that it is so fun to use too. And don’t even get me started on the scents… they all remind me of sweets from my childhood and honestly I could even eat them probably… they smell that delicious.
They leave my skin feeling nice and clean. The reason why I really like these products is because they actually make me excited to get in the shower and I love when shower gels and body lotions that does that to you (is that just me??). I wake up and already can’t wait for my shower time at the end of the day.
So I have been using them non stop and I am really happy with them. Have you ever tried them before? Which one is your fave?
Until next time,
Since the weather has been so nice and warm in there past few weeks, I haven’t worn a lot of make up on my face, but I have been really missing eyeshadows so I picked up this gel-cream eyeshadow by Maybelline as I thought it would be so easy to use.
I picked up the shade Pink Gold and I really like it. It is easy to apply, I use my fingers to do so. One thing is important, you have to use a primer with this. I assume the 24HR means it should be long lasting, but without a primer it starts to crease within a few hours, but with a primer it last all day.
I also tried it with a powder on top, but that is not necessary as it dries down and stays in place. I also use a setting spray with it. But I feel like the primer makes a huge difference and actually makes the product long lasting.
I really like the colour, it has good pigmentation, I think it goes well with my brown eyes. I have always enjoyed using pink shimmery eyeshadows. Also it’s just pretty perfect for summer I think.
Overall, if you’re looking for something very simple to apply on your eyelids, I would recommend picking up a shade from this range.
Hope you liked this post. What is your go to eyeshadow in the summer or do you even apply any when it’s too hot outside? Let me know.
Until next time,
I have had this mascara sitting in my drawer for months now and I finally opened it up and started using it. I found this mascara in TK Maxx for £4. Since Covergirl is not available in the UK I was really happy to have found it. I just could not leave it there. So this is the Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara.
The first very noticeable thing is that it has a stiff applicator with little bristles in the end. It is quite hard of a material so I’d say be careful when applying as it can be a little hard on the roots of the lashes. I can feel it scratch it sometimes when I apply too close to the roots.
For the first layer it is quite subtle, but it can definitely be build up. I think it’s good that it can be worn just easy everyday mascara with just a few layers or can be layered up for a more dramatic look.
As the name would suggest it does not clump up, which is a bonus, I am not really a big fan of clumpy lashes and this mascara does a good job of separating my lashes yet still giving them volume and thickness.
I would say it is very black, which is what I like, and also waterproof. I does stay put all day, does not print anywhere around my eye, even when I’m just sweating so much.
For a waterproof mascara I was worried that taking it ott would be hard, but it actually comes off fairly easily. I tried it both with a make up remover and a cotton pad, also with cleansing butter. Both ways remover any traces of mascara.
I will be definitely using this mascara a lot, because I find it is perfect for summery sweaty days when I don’t have to worry about it running down my face.
Hope you liked this review, and let me know if you tried this mascara or any other mascara by Covergirl!
Until next time,
I know everybody says it but I’m so happy we had a few sunny and warm days in the UK. It instantly put me in a better mood and even though it is currently raining outside I still feel like I can get ready for summer, cuz it is well on the way. I have had a busy month, so this Birchbox review is a little late than usual, but I still wanted to write this blog post. The box itself is soo springy and pretty, I can’t get over it. This month’s box is a collaboration with Cath Kidston and I was really excited to receive it. So let’s see what my box contained…
First thing is my fave thing in the box and it is an original Cath Kidston hand creme. I love hand creams I use them all year around so I’m always happy to add a new one to my collection. It smells so gorgeous, flowery, perfect for spring. It sinks in quickly too which is a huge bonus. It is sitting on my desk and I keep reaching for it a lot.
So the second thing is a ModelCo Baked Highlighter, and it is so tiny, probably the smallest product sample I have ever got. I chose it in the shade Frose and it has a pinky undertone, which I like in my highlighters. It is gonna be a perfect addition to my spring make up looks.
Another beauty product I have got is a Beautaniq Beauty Fill and Tame brow gel. It is a vegan formula which is great and it is enriched with aloe leaf extract so it is nourishing for the brows. Also contains glycerin so the brows won’t get crunchy or sticky which is often my issue with brow gels. I like the sound of these and I think it will a perfect product to use after I just got my brows filled in.
I feel like this box is very make up heavy, four product out of five, but I’m not complaining about it haha. So the next sample is a BB cream by Marcelle. It is supposed to hydrate and smooth your skin, giving you a glow that I guess you would want to wear in the spring and summer. It looks a little dark at first but when you blended out it looks better on the skin. As the weather is getting warmer it will be nice to use this instead of a foundation.
Lastly there were a skin care sample in the box too. I got the Lumene Overnight Bright Sleeping Cream. I have actually tried this but only once, I felt like it was a bit heavy on my skin like I could definitely felt like I had applied something onto my face. It did make my skin nice and soft by the morning, but I’ll be careful to use it just because of my oily skin. It has couldberry seed extract , vitamin C and hyaluronic acid to help your skin be luminous by the morning.
So this is all I had in April’s Birchbox, I hope you enjoyed reading it. Have you tried any of these products before?
Until next time,
I think Maybelline are killing it at the moment with their ‘superstay’ products. I loved the Superstay Matte Inks, and I have heard good things about this foundation so I decided to pick it up, and it turned out to be one of the best purchases ever!
So let’s start with the packaging. It is in a glass bottle, that comes with a pump, which I love, as it allows much more control and you won’t waste a lot of products. The consistency is not too liquidy nor too thick, but the thing I love about this foundation is that when you put it on your face it looks matte straight away! Like it has dried already, with saying that, I don’t find it drying at all. I have never put on a foundation that was like that. They always look wet and you have to wait for them to dry, but not with this one.
I would say it gives full coverage, without being heavy on the skin. I only use one pump and apply it with a brush. I love that you don’t need to use a lot of product for perfect coverage and it almost looks like it is your second skin. It is easily blendable too.
It does stay on my face all day, but I prefer to set it with a setting spray still, just to make sure. As for oiliness, so far this is the best foundation I have tried to keep my shiny forehead at bay.
Overall I think I am in love with this foundation, can’t stop reaching for it. I love the finish it gives to my skin, I could even get away with not setting it with powder, even on my oily T-zone! It looks that good on the skin! I don’t think I’ll be switching up my foundation anytime soon!
I hope you liked this review and please share your thoughts on this foundation, curious to see if anyone loves it as much as I do!
Until next time,
I have quite a fair skin, basically I am really really pale, and that sometimes causes me a bit of a trouble when applying blush. I used to not even use it just cuz I was so bad at applying it. But with the years and practise I think I got okay at it. I’m still afraid that sometimes I look like a clown but using lighter shades and a good brush made a huge difference. I started enjoying using a blush, even got a couple new shades. But I never ever dared to use a cream blush. I’ve always thought that they are so hard to blend, and it would look streaky on my face. But I received this blush in January’s Birchbox , gave it a try and now it is my go to, new fave blush.
So this blusher crayon is by a brand called Lord and Berry (never heard of them before Birchbox) in the shade in Camelia. It is really creamy, easy to blend out. I just simply do a couple of lines on my cheeks and blend is out with a brush, that works better for me than using my fingers. It has a nice pink shade perfect for my complexion and it just blends into the skin like a dream, giving me a really natural look. I am actually impressed. I did not think I would like a crayon blush, but I have been using it almost every day since I got it.
I do use a setting spray and with that it stays on all day and I usually have my make up on my face for 12 hrs. Although it does not claim to be long lasting it is a nice benefit. If you’re looking for a cream blush (I guess this still counts as cream, just because it is in a pencil/stick from), I would highly recommend getting this one. It retails for £15 on the Birchbox website. I think it is not too expensive as it will last a long time, I have been using it for two months and only sharpened it twice.
I hope you liked this post, I really enjoy sharing great beauty finds like this! Do you prefer cream blushes or powder ones? Which one is your fave?
Until next time,
