2018 favourites

Well hello and welcome back everybody! It has been forever since I posted but my excuse is that I was studying for exams and also have been through a few illnesses in December and overall I feel like December is always very tiring so could not find the time to post anything. With that being said I have also really missed blogging and can’t wait to get back to it. First post is gonna be a fave products of 2018 which I have been seeing everywhere and I hope I’m not too late with it. I like reading this posts and seeing these videos on YT because I always feel like if someone liked a product throughout a year then it must be a really good product, so let’s see what were my favourite products were  in 2018.

PSX_20190203_183317.jpg

Catrice Cosmetics Mattifying powder

I am the kind of person where if I find something that works really well for me I will stick to it and just don’t try out anything else, so when I tried this powder I knew I found a holy grail product. This powder is great, first of all it doesn’t look powdery on the skin, fills in my pores and just really smoothes my skin. I actually can’t wait to try out their loose powder, see how good it is to bake with, but yeah most days I only wear my Benefit Porefessionals primer and this on top, and concealer where needed and it gives such a smooth natural looking skin that I have been really into recently.

Catrice Ultimate Matte lipstick in 070 Nude Crush Everyday

Another greatest discovery of the year is this lipstick which is everything. Matte, pigmented, comfortable to wear, non drying and has a good staying power too and it is from the drugstore. I absolutely adore the shade, I really like mauvy nudes and pinks and this is right up my street. I love wearing this all the time, it goes with pretty much any make up look. Love love love it. (if you couldn’t already tell)

PSX_20190203_181843.jpg

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Mascaras have always been my fave make up items and this mascara has quickly became my ride or die mascara. I don’t own any other mascaras that give such length and volume at the same time. I love how it looks like on photos, almost like I’m wearing falsies when I don’t. It is easy to remove, the only thing is that it’s not waterproof and in the summer I do get smudges underneath my brows from it, which is not ideal, but honestly it doesn’t bother me that much because it’s all worth it for the effect it gives on the eyes. I don’t own many high end mascaras, but I feel like I don’t really need to look for another one when I already found one that’s working for me really well.

PSX_20190203_182457.jpg

Browcote Waterproof Brow Sealer

I got this brow gel in one of my Birchbox and honestly wasn’t expecting it to turn out to be my fave brow gel. (I would like to say that is is a clear gel, but I have been using it and it’s got discoloured from my brow product.) I like that I can’t see it in my brows yet it keeps them in place without that hard crunchy feeling that other brow gels give. The price point is so good too. I have not used any other brow gel for month and I’m already on my second bottle. I think I found a winner here as well.

So these were all my absolute favourite make up items in 2018, I could say these are also my ride or die product as well, just bloody love them. Simple as that.

What have been your absolute fave make up products in 2018 I would love to know?

Until next time,

5 product holiday make up

Currently as I’m writing this post I am spending my holiday back in my hometown in Hungary. The weather here is very warm already, around 27 degrees. I don’t like to apply a lot of make up when it’s this hot outside or warmer, but I still like to put a little bit of make up on to, you know, make me feel more like a functioning human. I came up with this very easy make up look and have been doing this every morning since being away, for like four days. It is so easy and simple and I only need five product. (even though I have my make up bag full of products that I brought but don’t use, haha).

psx_20180616_192923383038319.jpg

First stop is the brows. I feel like even if I didn’t have any make up on I would still like my brows to be filled in and look nice. It simply just makes your whole face look a lot better in my opinion. I have been using the brow pencil by Tanya Burr Cosmetics in the shade medium.

For eyeshadow I actually apply a highlighter also by Tanya Burr Cosmetics. It look gorgeous on the eyes, not too much yet perfectly shimmery for the sun outside.

I couldn’t go anywhere without a concealer. My dark under eyes need to be hidden away wherever I go so I always use my trusted conceal and define concealer by Make Up Revolution. The coverage with this concealer is unreal and it stays on my face for a long time even without setting it.

For my face I only use a blush. Especially if it’s really sunny outside. I want my skin to be as free of make up as possible and not let any chemicals burn into my skin. But it’s hard to resist this gorgeous blush which I think is just perfect for holidays. It is a bit shimmery and has a pink shade, very flattering on the skin too.

Last product of course has to be a mascara. Benefit’s Roller Lash is just perfect when you want your lashes to appear big and voluminous. Especially when you have so little make up on your eyes.

So this is my very easy and simple make up routine that is I think perfect and quick for holidays. How do you do your make up when you’re on holiday?

What I’m taking on holiday with me

Currently it is 24 degrees outside which makes me really happy so I thought this would be the best time to write the blog post I have wanted to write about what I’m gonna take on holiday with me. I’m going to visit my home country for two weeks at the end of May. I already know the weather there is presumably gonna be quite hot so I don’t need to take a lot of make up with me cuz they just melt off of my face. However I still like to take some essential make up products to make me look semi okay even when it’s boiling hot outside. So I’m gonna list here all the products that I’m taking on holiday with me…

psx_20180509_1046361065678322.jpg

psx_20180509_1051191989247538.jpg

First one is a brow pencil from Tanya Burr Cosmetics, and it is their Selfie Scuplt in the shade medium. I use this everyday anyway and I feel like if nothing else is done on my face when I do my brows it makes such a difference. So that is something I couldn’t go away without.

I absolutely hate applying foundation to my face when it’s hot outside. It legit just melts form your face within a few hours, leaving you all patchy. Plus just the feeling of chemicals burning into my skin is something I cannot stand. With that said I still like to hide my dark undereyes and red spots if I have any, so I will take a concealer with me. But I absolutely try and use it to the minimum. I will take my trusty MUR concealer that will give me enough coverage and will be long lasting on my skin.

psx_20180509_105241248549835.jpg

The only thing I actually am bothered with is my eyes. I will not apply eyeshadow, again it will melt off, but cannot go without a mascara. I will purchase a big sized Benefit Roller Lash as I have just run out on my mini, and it’s cheaper at the airport to buy. I love this mascara and it will be so pretty on my lashes. With that said I will also take my another essential eye make up product, the Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner in black which stays put on my tightline and doesn’t run down under my eyes.

psx_20180509_104740676230748.jpg

psx_20180509_1049331393724828.jpg

When I’m going out in the evening I will put something on my cheeks just to give them a little somethin’ somethin’. I really like to use the cheek illuminators from Tanya Burr Cosmetics. I will use Holiday Happiness as a blush and Forever Summer as a highlighter. I think they will be perfect and just enough with my minimalist holiday make up look.

So that is all the make up I will be taking with me. I cannot wait for the two week holiday, to be off from work and I will go through some big changes too which makes me very excited too. Hope you enjoyed this blog post. What are your go to make up bits to take on holiday with you?

Until next time,

Agota xx

April Favourites

I can’t actually remember the last time I did a monthly favourites blog post so I’m excited to share with you what I have been loving in this month. I feel like I have not tried any new product before this month really but I have new make up bits I love and old ones I rediscovered, so let’s get into the blog post…

psx_20180502_1042222036858448.jpg

psx_20180502_1034051195185250.jpg

psx_20180502_103216779400803.jpg

psx_20180502_1033051667177717.jpg

For so long, well all my life possibly, I have been “blessed” with dark undereyes. I doesn’t really matter what cream I put there, they will still be quite dark. I have been using concealers to cover it up, of course, then I saw someone on a YT talking about this product then it hit me, why have I never tried a colour corrector?? So I ordered the Maybelline MasterCamo color correcting pen in pink. I was so surprised how much it cancels out the blue under my eyes. I use concealer after applying this and together they cover up the darkness pretty well. The only thing I’m not really happy with is the twisty applicator… I twist it and have to wait for the product to come out and then later I notice a lot of product coming out, which I still use of course, but you do have to be careful with that. Other than that I’m very happy with this new discovery.

psx_20180502_103800428883902.jpg

psx_20180502_10411270184134.jpg

I don’t really know why I picked up this eyeshadow palette from Superdrug, I mean I have enough nude coloured eyeshadows, but this palette still caught my eyes, and really can you ever have enough nude eyeshadows?? I think no, haha. So this is a palette from Maxfactor with the prettiest shades ever. I like that it has matte and shimmery shadows in it too. I mostly use the mattes one for everyday, also the shimmery shades are very, very shimmery. I think it is good for travelling or going on holiday as you can create really natural looks as well as looks for the evening when you want to go out. Not mad at all that I purchased it.

psx_20180502_1036421079268903.jpg

psx_20180502_1035201242426327.jpg

The next favourite is a product I’m not sure I actually love but yet somehow I keep reaching for it a lot. I got a sample of it in March’s Birchbox and this is the new mascara from Benefit, the BadGal Bang mascara. At first I didn’t really like this mascara, but I can’t deny that it gives big long lashes, I still find it a bit clumpy and I’m still not a big fan of that, but I think it is getting better as it is drying out a little bit. I’m not sure if I would buy it again when this runs out, probably not, but I have to say it is not as bad as I first thought it was. Also I really like how it looks on the bottom lashes.

psx_20180502_1040131324221548.jpg

And lastly I have been loving the Hoola Bronzer by Benefit. (it is a sample size from Birchbox) For so long I have thought it was too dark for my skintone, but it is actually looking really nice when I blend it out. After using a cream contour for so long it was weird to use a powder one and I think powder takes longer for me to blend out. But I have been reaching for this every day this month, really loving the way it shapes my face, and just really enjoyed using it.

So these were all the products I have been loving in the month of April. Have you tried any of these products? What have been your faves this month?

Until next time,

Agota xx

Birchbox March 2018

It is that time of the month again, (no not PMS, haha), the time when my monthly Birchbox was delivered. Sharing all that I’ve got is one of my fave posts to write. This month’s theme is self care. I like the packaging even though it is not my fave one, it is very zen I think. So all the product samples included in this box helps you relax, reduce stress and just look after yourself. Let’s see what I got…

psx_20180308_12371177006777.jpg

psx_20180308_1239081661010380.jpg

psx_20180308_124746322440294.jpg

So the first thing I am probably the most excited about it the new Benefit BADgal BANG mascara, which I almost bought when it launched, but luckily I debated so much that I saw that it will be included in every Birchbox this month. So now the wait is over, and I can finally try this mascara. I applied it earlier when doing my makeup and it does give voluminous and thick lashes. The wand is longer than a mascara wand usually is. It is lightweight on the lashes, it almost feels like I have nothing on there. It is a wet formula and it gets clumpy after a few strokes. Overall I do like this mascara, but I think I prefer the Roller Lash from Benefit just because I am not a fan of clumpy lashes.

psx_20180308_124317891379212.jpg

Next thing is a Rituals foaming shower gel. I have received one of their foaming shower gel in a previous Birchbox so I’m excited to try this one too. Hopefully it smells nice. It is infused with cherry blossom and organic rice milk, all supposed to calm your mind and soothe your skin. I think it will be perfect to use in a shower after a long and stressful day.

psx_20180308_12461161526709.jpg

I am also very excited to try something from GLAMGLOW. I see their products all over social media, but I personally have never tried anything from the brand. I got a sample of the SUPERMUD Clearing Mask Treatment, which is essentially a mud mask with activated charcoal and 6 acids. It’s supposed to clear your skin and pores and I like that use can use it as a spot treatment or only on your T-zone. I am lucky enough that I don’t really have spots or blemishes on my skin, but using mud mask usually makes me spotty so I might just try it out on my T-zone and see how it works there.

psx_20180308_1244101446012655.jpg

Something I was really excited to get was an under eye mask for BLAQ. I have been seeing everyone using these, so I have been wanting to give them a try too. Especially since I do have dark under eyes unfortunately, therefore I am curious if these will help  with that. It’s also supposed to get rid of bags and puff and just to make you look well rested. I am all for this!

psx_20180308_124518358366168.jpg

And lastly I have received a Bombshell Blowout Spray from Amika. Not that I am any good at blow-drying my hair, but hopefully spraying this into my hair will make it easier for me. I like the sound of the heat protection it offers too. My hair usually gets flat on the second day so I will be using this to give a bit of volume. Even though I have got thick hair, I have not got a lot of hair so I could always use some extra volume at the top.

psx_20180308_1248531131343329.jpg

That is all I got in this month’s Birchbox. I hope you like this “review” kind of post. What products you liked the most? Do you own or have you ever used any of these products before?

Until next time,

Agota xx

Easy spring/summer make up

PSX_20170512_105829

With the sun being more and more out, and the weather getting warmer it truly feels like it is finally spring and summer is not that far away. Which means you can pop a bit more colour in your make up routine and I wanted to show you a pretty easy and simple make up routine that is light and easy.

After cleaning my face, I use the Body Shop Vitamin E moisturizer, which has been a favourite of mine for the last couple of weeks. Then I apply primer first. I use Benefit Porefessionals primer, as it does a great job at hiding my giant pores on my cheeks. For foundation I have been using a more watery foundation, and that is the Maybelline fit me foundation in the shade 102. It is very easy to apply blends in very easy, and because it is more watery consistency then creamy, you can barely feel it on your face. Which is perfect for when it gets warmer outside.

PSX_20170512_110113

For under my eyes, to cover up my dark circles, I have been using the Wonder Pencil by NYX. It  does a great job at hiding those dark circle and makes me look more awake and healthy. On top of this I use everyone’s fave concealer, the Collection Lasting Perfection one, in the shade fair. To finish off the base off my face make up , I’m setting everything with the Rimmel stay matte powder.

For my brows, I use the Natural collection eye shadow in crushed walnut. To start off my eye make up, I apply primer first. I use the NYX proof it! eye shadow primer. For my eye lids I’m using the Make Up Revolution palette, and taking the light brown shade for my crease and the lightest shade to cover all my lid. Since I want to go easy on the eye I’m only putting black eye pencil on my upper waterline. To finish off the eyes I use the new L’Oreal baby roll mascara which has become my new fave mascara. Gives such curls!

PSX_20170512_110537

PSX_20170512_110713

Now I go back to finish my base make up and for contour I use Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer, and for blush and highlight I use the Tanya Burr Cosmetics cheek palette in rosy flush.

For my lips I’m also using a new discovery, and that is the Maxfactor matte lipstick in the shade rose. Such a pretty pink shade for this time of the year.

So this is my easy spring/summer make up look. Hope you liked it and recreate it too!

xx

February faves

Another month has gone from 2017, it is really crazy how fast time goes. But to be honest I can’t wait for spring and summer, and just generally more sunshine. In the meantime, while we’re waiting, what better to do than try out new beauty bits, and then blog about them, right? 😉 So let’s get into all the products I discovered and loved in the month of February.

wp-1489144693299.jpg

wp-1489144842998.jpg

The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Clay Mask

At the beginning of the month I took a trip to The Body Shop, because I wanted to try out new skincare bit and bobs. The first thing to catch my eye was the seaweed clay mask for oily and combination skin. Masks never really have been a part of my skin care routine, but always wanted to try a clay mask. So I did, and I have to say I really like it. It works like every clay mask I imagine, you put the clay onto your skin, leave it for 10 mins to dry and work its magic. My skin feels extra clean after it and really smooth. Beware though, that this mask will probably draw out your spots and zits, but that is all okay, because that’s what a mask is supposed to do. Also be careful when you’re taking it off, so wet your whole face before starting to wash it off, so that you won’t pull your face with dried clay on it (ouchhh!) .

wp-1489144931324.jpg

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I’m probably the only beauty blogger who hasn’t tried and used this sponge yet. Somehow I was always using brushes and my fingers to apply foundation and to be honest I rarely think about changing things up in my make up routine, but I thought it was time to give this sponge a chance. So compared to a brush, using a sponge to blend in your foundation is a way better choice. With dabbing the foundation onto the skin, you can work it in really well, I find it gives more coverage as I’m not pulling my foundation on my face. Overall it gives you a better and flawless finish, it’s soo easy to use and absolutely worth the money and now I couldn’t go back to using my brushes or fingers.

wp-1489145262652.jpg

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid

I am a sucker for a matte lippie. No matter how many I own already I know that I will always want more. I like wearing matte lipstick on my lips more than non matte ones. I like that they are dry and stay put all day, and because I have my teeth sticking out I don’t have to worry about lipstick getting on them all the time. So it was inevitable to try out some of the Body Shop matte lipstick as well. I got two shades Tapei Orchid which is a bright pinky shade, the perfect kind of pink I like, another one is Nairobi Camellia which is a darker pinky shade. They stay put for hours and they don’t dry my lips. Oh and they smell soo sweet and good. The formulation is thicker than the Too faced or Barry M ones, but they are very easy to apply nonetheless.

wp-1489145340452.jpg

Benefit POREfessional primer

This was safe to say my best find in February. I splurged out on a Benefit Porefessional primer and it has changed so much in my make up routine. I have giant pores on my cheek near my nose, and I always hated them. I usually just used my foundation to cover them up, and make them disappear, but then I got a sample of this product last Christmas and tried it out and fell in love with it. It has a silky consistency, it is transparent and it makes your pores invisible. Win,win, win! I know it is on the pricey side, but everybody is raving about it for a reason, it is that good.

wp-1489145450263.jpg

The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink In Mask

After the cold winter months, I find that using a moisturizer in the morning is not enough for my face anymore, it still feels dry like a plant that really needs watering. So I was very happy when I found this Body Shop Vitamin E sink in Mask. It feels like gelatin in a tub, and you apply it before going to bed, after you’ve done your skincare routine of course, and leave it in for overnight, wash it off the next morning. My skin feels so soft and nice after using it.  Would absolutely recommend if you have dry skin, using it twice a week will work wonders, I can promise you that.

So these were all my fave for the month of February. What were you’re fave products that you discovered?

My five top beauty products

One of my favourite blog post to read is when people write about their top fave products. When people talk about their absolute fave products I know they have been using them for a long time and they are definitely working. I find myself usually going and giving a try to those products as well, as I like trying out new stuff. So it seemed like a very good idea for my first collaboration with Amy from Everydayamyblog, to share our top five beauty products with you. Here’s the link to her top five beauty faves :

wp-1488114385286.jpg

wp-1488114861825.jpg

  1. Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette

I’d say if you’re only going to invest one high end eye shadow palette, go for this one. It has every shade you could possibly need from matte shades and shimmery ones. I like natural shades for my eyes most of the time, and you really can’t go wrong with the variety you have in this palette. Perfect for everyday use to a really out there make up look. Not to mention it smells like chocolate which is the biggest bonus to it. (I mean whoever came up with the idea of scented make up was a genius)

wp-1488115098699.jpg

  1. Too Faced Melted Matte Liquefied Lipstick

Again, if you’re looking for a high end lippie and you’re not quite sure which one to go for first, and you happen to love matte lipstick, then this one is definitely the one to choose. I absolutely adore this melted lipstick. The formulation is so light yet the pigmentation is on point. It glides on like a lip gloss and dries downs to a matte lipstick. I don’t find it drying on my lips, and it lasts up to several hours. There are a lot of colours to choose from. I have the shade Queen B, but I really can’t wait to try out some new ones, like Cool Girl or Child star.

wp-1485095409438.jpg

  1. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

As I mentioned in one of my previous blog post, I have tried a lot of mascaras from the drugstore and it’s fair to say that this one is the best one I have ever tried. It gives volume and length, both which are very important when it comes to mascaras. It never clumps up on my lashes, and I do like to use a lot of coats, just to get the full effect ;).

wp-1488114948415.jpg

  1. Benefit High Beam highlighter

The one make up product I can’t imagine not having in my collection is a good highlighter. Before I found this gem, I used to use powder highlighter, which I still do, but this product is the most beautiful highlighter I have ever seen. It is a liquid highlighter, it has a slight pink undertone, which I love and it is also cool toned, which I find suits better my pale skin. Very easy to blend, I usually use my fingers to pat it onto my cheekbones. I find it last for a really long time and gives your make up a really nice and polished finish.

wp-1488115167797.jpg

  1. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder

My last top beauty fave is this powder. I usually don’t really venture out from base make up too much when I have found something that’s working for me so well. So I have been using this product for years basically, and it just works for me perfectly. It’s not too powdery, keeps my make up matte almost all day and doesn’t make my make up look cakey. I use the shade transparent, as I don’t want more colour just something to hold my foundation in place.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and make sure you head over to Amy’s blog to read about her beauty faves.

What are your top five make up products, you just can’t live without?
