Settings sprays have changed my life, or at least my make up game for sure. Whenever I used blush and highlighter on my cheeks, I noticed it was gone from my skin after a few hours, and I really didn’t like that. But setting them with a spray means I can actually see my highlighter after wearing it for 10 hrs. If you like to wear a full face of make up, then I think a setting spray should be an essential last step in your routine.
I used to use The Body Shop Vitamin E Mist to set my make up and I really liked using that, but I wanted something that would keep my face as matte as possible all day (#oilyskinproblems). So I decided to pick up the NXY Make Up Setting Spray Matte Finish as I have heard good things about it. I picked up the mattifying one obviously, as they have another one that gives a dewy finish, but it is all about the matte look for me, having an oily skin and all.
It is a nice mist to use, definitely finer mist that The Body Shop one. I like how it feels on my skin. Like it’s locked all the make up in place without making my skin feel too hard, if that makes sense. It dries down quickly and does not leave my face feeling tacky.
I still get oily on my forehead and cheeks by the end of the day (feel like that’s not really gonna change ever haha), but I definitely notice the effects of using a mattifying primer, a matte foundation and a matte setting spray. They keep the shine to a minimum. The oiliness used to break through after a few hours, whereas now, it is slower and not as heavy on my skin by the end of the day. Not to mention my blush and highlight last all day which I really really like. Especially with powder highlights, it makes the highlight melt into the skin and takes away all the powderiness too.
I think this is a good setting spray from the drugstore, only for £7. Never disappointed in NYX products, it is turning into my fave brand slowly.
I hope you liked this review. Did you ever try this setting spray? Which one is your favourite setting spray?
Until next time,

I love this setting spray. I have it in the dewy formula as I’m opposite to you, dry skin but might give this one s go as I do like a matte look occasionally! Glad you love it too!
